Permanent Supportive Housing

Over the years, Praxis has placed/referred thousands of its clients to Independent Housing or Permanent Supportive Housing Programs.  In 2012, as part of its strategic plan, Praxis acquired a lot on White Plains Rd. with the intention of developing its own Permanent Supportive Housing Program.  May 2014, Warren Residence was opened!  June 2015, Praxis closed on its second project, Loring Place North. Presently, Praxis has 127 supportive/affordable housing units constructed, under development, representing over $47 million in public and private investment.

Warren Residence:  Praxis opened the newly constructed Warren Residence in May 2014.  The program offers Permanent Supportive Housing to formerly homeless individuals/families (without children), that meet NY/NY III criteria.  The 7 story, 61 unit building, was funded by NYC Housing Preservation & Development Supportive Housing Loan Program and Low Income Housing Tax Credits.  The project includes an elevated greenhouse, garden growing beds, teaching kitchen, residents lounge and laundry room.
